The Seventh Annual World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) has begun on the Isle of Man on September 05th and will run till September 22th. Up to 20,000 people will be taking part in the World Championship - WCOOP is a popular event with the big-names as well as novice players. WCOOP kicked off Friday night with the USD 215 buy-in No Limit Texas Holdem Tournament.

In 2008, WCOOP features 33 different events, including Hold'em, Omaha, Stud, Razz, H.O.R.S.E., and their versions. This year it is the world’s biggest tournament series with a guaranteed prize pool of USD30 million, which is twice the size of the last year’s tournament. Each event has a guaranteed prize pool, with many reaching more than USD 2 million. This winner of this year’s No Limit Texas Hold'em Main Event on September 21-22 will get a chunk of USD 10 million prize pool.
