| Macau Finally Beats Las Vegas |
| Macau which once was a simple colony is now succeeding in becoming the world leading gambling attraction. The former China’s Southern Edge engaged itself into the rivalry not so long ago; however, the results are really astonishing. Up to date Macau is the home of twenty seven casinos that already earn higher annual revenue than those of Las Vegas. This fact allows us with complete firmness name Macau as the international leader of gambling. The Analysts state that Macau’s revenues might outachieve those of Nevada State at large, which in its turn might interfere with the American Casinos profits. Speaking about fast growing Macau’s gambling market, one of the casino experts, David Green from Price Waterhouse-Coopers in Macao also said that Macau has been undermining the position of American Casinos. Moreover, the market of Macau is still developing and increasing. It appears that the effect of Macau’s gambling market owes a lot to more than positive economical changes in the country that have taken place in these latter days. In the beginning Macau had only eleven casinos; then Macau was handed over to China and the Chinese tourists were allowed to gamble there and the situation began to develop. Now the most part of Macau’s visitors are the citizens of China (fifteen million out of about twenty seven million visitors last year). This year the number has already increased by 24 per cent. |
