Harrah’s America Style Resort in Spain
Harrah’s planning another casino in Spain that will be named after a famous personage, Don Quixote. Reino de Don Quijote is a scheduled tourist resort in Ciudad Real; the 6.8 million sqm property will also have a casino with the anticipated annual taxation for of 77.5 million Euros. The sum is accumulated from 20 million from gambling, 57.2 million as the tax to societies and 300,000 Euros that would arrive from some other local taxes.
The project was officially presented in a mega complex of Spain by its general director, Miguel Fernández Ballesteros. Harrah’s which is the main partner of El Reino de Don Quijote stated then that the resort will most likely be prepared not earlier 2011. Harrah’s willing to build a small model of America there, where it has most of its properties.
The first phase of the project is awaited to be finished in 2010. Harrah’s has already invested 6.500 million Euros into the center; 2.500 million Euros will be fully assigned to the first phase accomplishment. The rest of the sum will be invested into four more hotels and some schools, said a spokesman from El Reino de Don Quijote.
Only last week the company was finally issued the corresponding license by the Council of Ciudad Real.
