| This February, the world’s second government-owned national poker site has been launched in Austria. Observers remark that this fact proves of increasing popularity of online gaming in the country. The site is operated by Casinos Austria and Austrian Lotteries.
The new Austrian poker website is using the Boss Media technology platform. The site was elaborated in co-operation with Svenska Spel, a Swedish company launched two years ago on the same platform. Right from the start, the Austrian poker site promoters may do better than their Swedish colleagues did on the same stage.
The new site provides lots of visual aid to help new sign-ups acknowledge themselves with the web-resource and services offered, covering everything from initial download and deposit to game manual.
The site is special in offering different kinds of freerolls; aside from its freerolls, it offers no further bonuses. Rake structure of the Austrian site is similar to that of Svenska Spel and is set at 2.5%. The site is also using satellites to connect to the Casinos Austria Poker Tour (CAPT), which consists of six live tournaments with a total prize pool of more than 5 million euros. CAPT tournaments are running on a yearly basis from the end of February to mid-October.
