| As was announced by the organizers of the New Zealand Gaming Expo, events at the SKYCITY Auckland Convention Centre are currently almost booked to capacity. The gaming expo will be held March 4-5, 2008, and include both the trade exhibition and conference program. It will be open from 12-5pm on both days and is complimentary for gaming industry representatives and media.
The New Zealand Gaming Expo aims at demonstrating latest developments in products and services of the country's gaming industry along with business networking opportunities. The list of participants includes Advance Gaming Ltd, Ainsworth Game Technology, Anztec Limited, Aristocrat Technologies, Fortune Corporation, Gaming Inc Limited, IGT (NZ) Ltd, IndeServe, New Zealand ATM Services Ltd, Salamander Systems, Abacus New Zealand and K & S Security, Sprintquip/Enterprise, Stargames Corporation and The Department of Internal Affairs.
A year ago, the last of 20,000-odd gaming machines at more than 1600 non-casino licensed gambling venues of New Zealand were connected to a new electronic monitoring system, so Gaming Expo visitors will have an opportunity to get acquainted with technology issues and statistics relating to the upgrade performed in March 2007.
The highly topical conference programme of the Gaming Expo is to feature a number of renowned speakers of the region: the SKYCITY Chairman and successful business leader Mr Rod McGeoch AM, best-selling author and media expert Mr Allan Pease, and former New Zealand cricketer Sir Richard Hadlee.
At present, six casinos, 630 lottery retail outlets, race and sports betting through around 500 Totalizator Agency Board (TAB) outlets and around 20,000 gaming machines in non-casino venues are operating in New Zealand.
